Statutes of the Grant Given by the Estonian Hotel and Restuarant Association
Students of vocational educational institutions that teach hotel or catering specialties may apply for the EHRA grant if the study programmes and training base of the school have been reviewed by the Personnel Work and Training Committee or Professional Qualification Committee of the EHRA. The Personnel Work and Training Committee selects the vocational educational institutions whose students may apply for the grant given by the EHRA.
The vocational educational institutions in 2011 are:
- Pärnumaa Kutsehariduskeskus
- Tartu Kutsehariduskeskus
- Tallinna Teeninduskool
- Eesti Hotelli- ja Turismikõrgkool
- Kuressaare Ametikool
- Võrumaa Kutsehariduskeskus
- Narva Kutseõppekeskus
- Kehtna Majandus- ja Tehnoloogiakool
- Vana-Vigala Tehnika- ja Teeninduskool
- Haapsalu Kutsehariduskeskus
- Tartu Ülikooli Pärnu Kolledž
- Järvamaa Kutsehariduskeskus
- Sillamäe Kutsekool
All students of hotel or catering specialties of said schools, who meet the criteria listed in the statutes, may apply for the grant internally in the school.
The procedure for selecting grant recipients is established internally in the schools and the schools decide whom to nominate as a candidate for the grant considering the following criteria:
- the grant recipient has studied their specialty in the study programme for at least one year;
- the grant recipient has received good grades (both in their specialty and general subjects) during the entire academic year;
- the grant recipient is well disciplined; they are not late or absent without reason and do all their work on time;
- the grant recipient has initiative, they participate in the organisation of events, have a deep interest in their specialty, read special literature, visit trade fairs and presentations, participates in professional competitions;
- the grant recipient must have passed the internships required in the study plan and internship results show that they have acquired certain skills and are serious about their work. Students who have passed their internships in EAHR member companies should be preferred if all other indicators are equal.
In addition to the monetary grant, the grant recipient is referred to a vacant position in an EHRA member company after graduation. The employer decides on the position.
The grant is paid out once a year at the start of the academic year.
