As of January, tourists residing outside of the European Union have the opportunity to use Tax Free Shopping already when the purchase price in a store is over EEK 600 (EUR 38).
A growth of 30 percent in tax-free transactions over January of last year can be hoped for this year in connection with the numbers of tourists visiting Estonia during the New Year's period. Estonian Traders' Association director of operations Marika Merilai believes that this is an additional opportunity to make Estonia more attractive to tourists.
